It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Pauline Queenan

Virginia, Cavan / Boyle, Roscommon

Pauline Queenan, (ex Bank Official), Virginia, Co. Cavan and late of Emlagh, Kingsland, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Peacefully on the 21/03/24 surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the wonderful palliative care staff in Lisdarn unit, Cavan Hospital. Pauline will be deeply missed by her sisters Una Beirne, Monica Donnelly, Mary Cretaro and brothers Gerry and Vincent, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Reposing tomorrow 22/03/24 at Finnegan's Funeral Home, Cavan (H12 RF78) from 11am to 12.30pm. Pauline will repose thereafter in Mahon's Funeral Home, Boyle (F52 ND23), 22/03/24 from 5pm to 7pm. Mass of the resurrection on Saturday 23/03/24 in St. Joseph's Church, Boyle at 12noon with Burial afterwards in Eastersnow Cemetery.

Mary Rose (Molly) Holland

(née Skinnader)

Dunmadigan, Emyvale, Monaghan, H18 FW32

The death has occurred of Mary Rose (Molly) Holland nee Skinnader, Dunmadigan, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan H18 FW32, Thursday 21st March, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.

Pre-deceased by her husband James, daughter Bridget, her brothers Peter, James, Francis, Owen and her sister Kitty.

Mary Rose will be sadly missed by her sons Tom, Jim, John, Michael, Oliver, Peter and Owen and her daughters Catherine, Margaret, Anna, Sarah, Charlotte and Xenia, her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren in Ireland, UK, Australia and the USA, sister-in-law Maisie, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Mary Rose' remains will repose at McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80, on Friday March 22nd from 5pm-9pm and at all other times at her late residence for family, neighbours and friends. Funeral mass on Saturday March 23rd at Sacred Heart Church, Carrickroe at 3pm followed by burial afterwards at the Holy Family Cemetery, Ballyoisin. Family flowers only please.

As a mark of respect, Hollands of Emyvale will be closed from 3pm on Friday 22nd March and all day Saturday 23rd March.

Tommy Donnelly

94 Glaslough Street, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Peacefully at Drumbear Lodge Nursing Home, Monaghan. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Florence Donnelly, his sisters Deirdre (Derry), O'Cinnéide Nuala Donnelly, Teresa Donnelly, Nessa Flynn and his brothers Brendan and Phelim Donnelly.

Tommy will be sadly missed by his sister Mary O'Connor (Dublin) and his brother Niall Donnelly (Armagh), his nieces and nephews, relatives and friends both at home and abroad, and all those who knew and loved Tommy.

Reposing at the premises of McElvaney Funeral Directors, Church Square, Monaghan on Friday (22/03/2024) from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Removal on Saturday (23/03/2024) at 10.30 a.m., arriving via Glaslough Street at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Old cemetery, Latlurcan.

Derrygasson Upper, Emyvale, Monaghan, H18 CR94

The death has occurred of Mary McKenna (Garage), Derrygasson Upper, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, H18 CR94, Tuesday, 19th March, suddenly.

Pre-deceased by her son PJ. Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Pete, sons Damien (Pauline), Geoffrey (Sharon), Jason (Cheryl) and daughter Yvonne (Chris), grandchildren Nicole, Yasmin, Kassie, Danny, Jade, Mary, Harley, Harry & Joe, great-granddaughter Freya, brother Sean, sister Peggy, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Mary's remains will repose at her residence on Thursday from 6pm - 9pm and Friday from 4pm - 9pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 Noon at St.Patrick's Church, Corracrin. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
