Errigal has a ‘great team’ for hosting special events

The four star Errigal County House Hotel keeps family at the heart of their business, making it an ideal place to celebrate occasions in your house this year.

Owned by the Kelly family, the country house hotel is nestled within the stunning scenery on the outskirts of Cootehill, a perfect location for capturing those special family moments on camera.

Asked why he would celebrate an occasion at the hotel, General Manager Gary Britton answered that the “homely” atmosphere is what entices him to the venue.

From the very start of the Errigal experience, Gary said guests receive a warm greeting upon entering with friendly staff on hand to help.

“We’re very proud of our cuisine standard here and customer service,” he said.

There is a range of different menu options available for Communions, Confirmations and Mothers’ Day, with offerings to suit any dietary requirements or personal preferences that diners may have.

Meanwhile the “special” Mothers’ Day lunch menu makes the perfect dining experience, where the special woman in your home can sit back, relax and have everything handed to her with a smile.

The restaurant still has availability for all events, with the General Manager adding that he would “highly recommend” booking for Mothers’ Day lunch.

Before or after your meal, there is “lots of space” to grab some photographs outside or you can take in the surrounding scenic greenery from their “lovely” garden area.

The hotel is also home to a luxurious spa, a voucher for which would make an ideal gift experience. With abundant spa breaks and packages on offer, it couldn’t be easier to find a treatment to suit you and your budget. The team at the Errigal plan to add outdoor hot tubs, an ice bath and a sauna to their spa experience this April.

“We’re also very kid friendly up here with the space that we have,” he said, meaning the day out can be enjoyed by all.

Originally from Dublin and living in Meath, Gary is new to his role at the Errigal County House Hotel and noticed that the business is “very focused” on looking after the community and supporting other local businesses.

His new post is going “very good” and he is “delighted” with the footfall into the business. The hotel has plans to expand their offering to customers in the future.

“At the minute we’re planning a new restaurant that will be opening in mid-April,” he said, adding that this will provide a casual brasserie dining experience while overlooking the “beautiful views”.

“It will be very attractive for people who are having parties,” he said, with future plans to host live music in the space.

The space will be “cocktail orientated” with a “retractable roof” for those long, sunny summer evenings.

The hotel boasts meeting rooms and a vibrant music scene and is also a renowned wedding venue in Cavan. Their next wedding event will take place on March 29, just before Mothers’ Day, when they will launch new menus and offerings for weddings.

“We have a fantastic room here, the Skeffington Suite, for our weddings.”

No matter what the occasion, the General Manager assured that customers are in safe hands at the Errigal Country House Hotel.

“We have a great team, we have a great head chef, there’s a lovely young team here, we’re a tight-knit group,” he concluded.
