Castlerahan NS hosts tractor run to raise much needed funds
Proceedings kick off at 11am on Sunday
Castlerahan National School will host a Tractor Run & Family Fun Day this Sunday, April 6 in an effort to raise some needed funds to purchase equipment and provide resources for pupils at the school. The school’s first Autism Class commenced in September 2024 and a second one is in the pipeline for September 2025.
Siobhain Sanders-O'Brien, Chairperson Castlerahan Parents Association, said all funds raised on the day will be used for outdoor play equipment at the school. “This year we opened up a new Autism Class and another one will come on stream in September,” she continued before adding that funds will also help to kit out the class because.
“There is very little funding available to us for that and we want to provide facilities to promote integration and inclusion, and provide extra curricular activities.” Meanwhile, proceedings kick off on Sunday at 11am with a kids tractor run on the pitch.
The main attraction will begin immediately afterwards and there will be an auction and raffle with over 50 prizes up for grabs. Tickets will be sold on the day so bring plenty of cash! “We want to thank all the local businesses across Cavan and Meath who donated to the cause,” added Siobhán.
“Crover House Hotel is providing soup to the tractor run participants and we’ll also have a cake sale. It will be a fun-filled day out for all the family with lots of games, ice cream and face painting as well.” Registration for the tractor run is €20; free in for families.
