Cavan and Monaghan learn All-Ireland R1 opponents

The draw for round 1 of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship has been made, with Cavan to face Westmeath away and Monaghan to host Mayo.

Both sides will be in action on the weekend of May 30-31 as Breffni manager Dermot McCabe returns to face the Lake County, whom he managed last season.

Cavan defeated Westmeath by four points in the National League in February, 2025. Monaghan lost by 19 points to Mayo in the league in February of this year.

The losers of both matches will still be in the competition.
