The McCabe Group is developing the new St Christopher’s Hospice for Cavan and Monaghan.

Sunflower Day for St Christopher's Hospice

The final countdown is underway for the 36th annual Hospice Sunflower Days campaign, with the on-street collection taking place across Cavan and Monaghan from tomorrow (Thursday), June 11 until Saturday, June 13, to raise funds for St Christopher’s Hospice.

You can support St Christopher’s Hospice by purchasing some of the sunflower merchandise that the volunteers will be selling in towns across both counties served by the local hospice. You can show your support too by donating online via the website, www.sunflowerdays.ie.

Speaking about the upcoming Hospice Sunflower Days on-street collection, Jim Lalor, chairperson, St. Christopher’s Hospice, said: "We are calling on the public to support St Christopher’s Hospice by purchasing some sunflower merchandise from our volunteers to help us raise vital funds."

Meanwhile, construction of the extension and internal refurbishment of St Christopher’s Hospice on the outskirts of Cavan Town is ongoing.

The Specialist Palliative Care Unit will encompass 16 single occupancy (en-suite) rooms for patients requiring specialist palliative and end of life care from the population of Cavan and Monaghan.

It will also provide an outpatient facility including a day hospital and specialist treatment unit with capacity for infusions, transfusions, and a lymphedema service. It will also contain a physical therapies unit for prehabilitation and rehabilitation and a creative therapies unit to cater for art, music, creative and complimentary therapies.
