Top class bill for Monaghan Town Country Festival 2026
Irish country royalty Mike Denver, Jimmy Buckley and Michael English top a thrilling line-up for this year’s Monaghan Town Country Music Festival.
Get ready for an unforgettable four days of music, dancing, and family fun as the Monaghan Town Country Music Festival returns to the heart of Monaghan Town from Thursday to Sunday July 9-12.
Festival gates will open from 7.30-11.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and from 4-10.30pm on Sunday.
The eagle-eyed among readers will notice a change of date for this fantastic charity event, with all proceeds supporting local charities and good causes.
UNBEATABLE ENTRY FEES
Festival organisers have ensured ticket prices remain unchanged for 2026! Tickets are now on sale from the Westenra Arms Hotel (047 74400) or can be purchased at any of the five pay stations on the night.
• €10 - Thursday & Friday evening • €15 - Saturday evening & all day Sunday • Weekend Ticket - €50 for all four events • €5 - Children under 12 years (must be accompanied by a paying adult).
This multi-generational charity event features a star-studded line-up of Ireland’s top country music stars, supported by outstanding warm-up acts. Every year, enthusiastic crowds travel from near and far to dance in the streets and enjoy Monaghan’s renowned hospitality, vibrant atmosphere, and exceptional entertainment.

Friday, July 10 • Friends (live on stage from 7.30pm) • Jimmy Buckley (live on stage from 9.30pm).
Saturday, July 11 • Alex Roe (live on stage from 7.30pm) • Michael English (live on stage from 9.30pm).
Sunday, July 12 • 4pm – Eamonn Jackson & Band • Under 50s Jiving Competition • Over 50s Jiving Competition • Jack Keogh & Band (live on stage from 6.30pm) • Gavin Gribben & Band (live on stage from 8.30pm), bringing the festival to a spectacular close.
On Saturday afternoon, festival-goers will be treated to a fantastic performance by local line dancing group and World Champions, Shuffling Boots.
Adding to the excitement, Cullen’s Fun Fair will also be in town throughout the festival, providing plenty of entertainment for families, children, and thrill-seekers of all ages.
JIVING COMPETITIONS
One of the highlights of the festival is the ever-popular competitive Jiving Competition, with prizes generously sponsored by Séamus McKenna Car Sales, Emyvale.
Competitors will have the opportunity to compete for: • The Willie McKenna Perpetual Cup (Under 50s) • The Liam Stirrat Perpetual Cup (Over 50s)
The competitions will commence at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
Registration opens on the bespoke dance floor from 3pm. Alternatively, competitors can pre-register by emailing mtmfestival24@gmail.com. Competition numbers will be allocated on the day.
Held on the bespoke dance floor in front of the main stage, the competition consistently attracts large crowds and creates a fantastic atmosphere, so be sure to arrive early to secure the best viewing spot.
