Jobs must be protected in PTSB sale, says TD

Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris' reply.

A local TD has renewed his call for jobs and the PTSB branch network to be protected as the bank's proposed sale to BAWAG progresses.

Speaking after receiving a Parliamentary Question response from Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris, Deputy Smith said safeguarding employees and maintaining banking services across counties such as Cavan and Monaghan must remain a priority.

In his reply, the Tánaiste confirmed that the Government will support BAWAG's recommended cash offer for PTSB, subject to regulatory approvals and High Court sanction.
