Doctor365 introduces new blood testing service
Doctor365 has expanded its healthcare offering in Cavan Town with the introduction of a new Blood Test & Health Screening service, further strengthening the range of walk-in and out-of-hours medical care available at its local clinic.
The new service, introduced in response to strong patient demand, provides convenient access to routine blood testing and comprehensive health screening without the need for lengthy waiting times. It marks another step in Doctor365's plans to broaden the range of available healthcare services available at its Main Street clinic, with physiotherapy, dermatology and gynaecology also planned for the Cavan clinic.
Doctor365, one of Ireland's leading providers of walk-in, out-of-hours and online GP services, opened its Cavan clinic in November 2025. The clinic operates seven days a week, offering patients accessible healthcare without the need for an appointment.
Speaking about the new blood testing service, Doctor365 General Manager Svetlana Grodzicka said it had taken time to establish the necessary laboratory partnerships before the service could be launched.
“The blood service is something patients asked for since we opened,” she said. “So we're delighted to now offer it because we see a significant demand.”
She explained that blood tests play an important role in diagnosing a wide range of medical conditions, and include a broad range of diagnostic tests covering cholesterol, blood sugar, organ function and other key health indicators.
Ms Grodzicka says the programme is designed to support early detection of illness and encourage preventative healthcare.
“Many people come in with symptoms such as persistent tiredness, hair loss or other health concerns. Blood tests allow our doctors to investigate what's causing those symptoms and decide on the most appropriate treatment or next steps.”
Blood samples taken at the Cavan clinic are sent directly to a private laboratory in Dublin, allowing most results to be returned within approximately 72 hours.
“Patients appreciate the quick turnaround,” says Ms Grodzicka, who manages six Doctor365 clinics nationwide. “Getting results back promptly means doctors can begin treatment or arrange any further investigations much sooner.”
Alongside routine GP consultations, Doctor365 also provides ECGs, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, prescriptions, medical certificates and referral letters for specialist consultants. Patients requiring referrals can also receive them during a standard consultation, helping to avoid additional hospital administration fees.
Ms Grodzicka's says the ultimate long-term vision for Doctor365's Cavan site is to create a comprehensive community healthcare hub.
She said the spacious Cavan facility provides ample room for future expansion as new services come online.
Doctor365 in Cavan is open seven days a week, 365 days a year from 10am to 7pm, closing for lunch between 2-3pm. The clinic is located at 90 Main St, Abbeyland, Cavan Town, and no appointment is necessary for the walk-in service. Standard walk-in consultations cost €50, and patients will need to bring a valid photo ID (such as a passport or driver's licence).
