Castle Leslie’s Mark Leslie, founder of Martello Media, remembered
The cremation of Mark Leslie, of Castle Leslie, Glaslough, Co Monaghan, takes place today (Friday) following his sudden death at his home in Dún Laoghaire last week.
Mr Leslie, who was born in 1952 to Agnes Bernelle and Desmond Leslie, died on Friday, July 24. His funeral service is being held at 11:30am this morning at Newlands Cross Crematorium in Dublin.
Founder of Martello Media, Mr Leslie worked alongside his beloved adult children, Luke and Leah. He is survived by his partner, Ana Dolan; his former wife, Cliona Manahan; his siblings Seán, Antonia, Wendyl, Samantha — the current custodian of Castle Leslie Estate — and Camilla; together with his extended family and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.
A Harvard-educated narrative architect, Mr Leslie had a deep passion for his native Co Monaghan. In recent years, he was involved in a number of projects across the county, including work at Carrickmacross Workhouse, the Patrick Kavanagh Centre in Inniskeen and the Clones Lace Gallery in the Ulster Canal Stores.
On the Martello Media website, Mr Leslie is described as "a polymath equally interested in science, history and design".
Tributes to the internationally renowned creative will appear in next week's print edition of The Anglo-Celt.
