Gardaí attend incident in Cavan Town this afternoon

The Celt understands one person has been taken to hospital

GARDAÍ in Cavan are investigating two incidents in less than 24 hours in Ballyconnell and Cavan Town.

This afternoon, Gardaí were called to an incident at an apartment complex off Main Street in Cavan Town. It’s understood a young man has been conveyed to Cavan General Hospital as a result.

Meanwhile, in the early hours of this morning, two men in their 30s had to be taken to hospital after an assault in the Cullyleenan area of Ballyconnell.

Gardaí have described their injuries as “serious but non-life-threatening”.

A technical examination has been carried out at the Ballyconnell scene and gardaí say their investigations are “ongoing.”

Officers are still in attendance in Cavan Town at this time.
