Cúchulainns stretched their legs down the home straight to gallop over the line in pole position in an entertaining SFC opener at Kingspan Breffni on Saturday evening last.
Laragh arguably gave their opponents more than they probably had bargained for but they came unstuck over the final 13 minutes or so when a Cúchulainns team oozing confidence and self-assurance pulled away for a deserved but slightly flattering seven point victory.
Obviously buoyed by their recent Division One league final triumph over Gowna, the Cúchulainns lads exhibited a swagger about their play and a belief that augurs well for their chances of adding a shock win in the SFC to their shock league title success.

For their part, Laragh showed patience and persistence in matching their fancied opponents for 75% of the match before Cuchulainns’ sharper teeth and greater experience put the underdogs nursing their wounds.
