Body of man (60s) found at residential property in Ballyjamesduff, on Saturday, August 15.

Senior garda assigned to investigate Ballyjamesduff death

A senior Garda officer has been assigned to oversee the investigation into the sudden death of a man in his 60s at a house in Ballyjamesduff at the weekend.

Gardaí are continuing to investigate “all of the circumstances” surrounding the discovery of the man’s body at a residential property in the Kilmore Estate on Saturday, August 15.

The house was subsequently cordoned off to allow for a technical examination as part of the investigation.

The man’s body was later removed to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination was carried out by the State Pathologist on Monday morning, August 17.

Gardaí have confirmed that the results of the post-mortem are not being released at this stage for “operational reasons”.

Around a dozen gardaí attended the area earlier today (Tuesday) where a number of searches were carried out.

A Garda spokesperson previously confirmed: “Enquiries are ongoing.”
