Clones CU at the heart of the community

For generations, Clones Credit Union has been more than a place to save or borrow money.

Since 1959, it has been part of the fabric of the local community, supporting the schools, clubs, organisations and initiatives in the area.

Bernie Gleeson , CEO, said: “Clones Credit Union is ‘For You, Not Profit’, with any profits gained being reinvested into the community and into the future of the Credit Union.”

While services offered by Revolut and other digital banks may offer convenience and useful digital features, they do not have the same connection to the communities they serve.

“You are unlikely to see a digital banking app sponsoring a local children’s football team, supporting a school initiative or contributing to the organisations that bring people together locally,” said Ms Gleeson.

“At Clones Credit Union, community support is not an added extra. It is central to who we are! And there is still real value in having access to exceptional face-to-face customer service. We are digital when you want it, human when you need it,” she added.

Behind every account and every loan is a member, not simply an account number.

The team at Clones CU is also committed to making lending accessible and competitive.

Clones Credit Union offers a wide range of loan products to meet members’ changing needs including competitive rates for students and reduced-rate lending for current account holders.

“By choosing Clones Credit Union, members are choosing an organisation that puts its members and its community first.”
