PSNI appeal for information following armed robbery in Middletown

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an armed robbery in Middletown, Armagh on Saturday, August 22.

A report was received at around 1pm of an ongoing armed robbery at a filling station bureau de change in the Monaghan Road area.

PSNI officers attended the scene and spoke to the employee, who was unharmed, though obviously shaken by the ordeal.

It was reported that a man with a hood up and his face covered had entered the premises shortly beforehand, armed with what police believe to have been a small handgun. He demanded money from the employee and subsequently took a quantity of cash before making off in a blue Volkswagen Passat.
