Second day of Solheim Cup ends in a tie

Team Europe and USA have ended the second day of the Solheim Cup with an equal score of 8-8, as they head into individual rounds tomorrow.

There were two sessions today with the foursomes earlier this morning, when Cavan's Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit claimed victory over Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang in a tight match which was won at the final hole.

The fourballs were played in the afternoon when the Ballyconnell native, who was paired with Nastasia Nadaud, was beaten by Rose Zhang and Auston Kim.

Meanwhile, all 12 players will play individual rounds tomorrow on what will be the final day of the Solheim Cup.

Leona is representing team Europe in the 20th edition of the biannual competition between Europe and the United States.

Maguire was one of Captain Nordqvist's four wildcard picks to complete the 12-player line-up.

It is her fourth consecutive appearance at the Solheim Cup, and she brings a stellar record with her to the Netherlands- having won 8.5 points from 12 matches.

The Europeans will be hoping to reclaim the trophy, having lost out to the US last time out, away from home.
