Draw made for Cavan SFC semi-finals

Crosserlough and Gowna have been drawn against each other in the semi-final of the Cavan Senior Football Championship after the weekend's quarter-finals.

On the other side of the draw, reigning champions Kingscourt will have to wait to see who emerges from the replay of Killygarry and Cuchulainns after the sides drew in a high scoring encounter at Kingspan Breffni on Friday night. Both registered 1-21 in a pulsating tussle that will raise interest with neutrals for the replay - which has yet to be fixed.

Saturday and Sunday's quarter-finals didn't reach those dizzying heights, with only the Kingscourt's defeat of Cavan Gaels coming close to presenting a serious contest. In the other games, Crosserlough had effectively defanged Mullahoran's threat by halftime, leading by 10 at the short whistle. The second half didn't improve matters as the game ended 0-22 to 0-12.

Meanwhile, last year's beaten finalists Gowna beat a disappointing Ramor United by more than double figures, 0-21 to 0-10.

The hope that the imbalance apparent from the quarter-finals will be remedied by (ultimately) having four strong challengers in the semi-finals. Crosserlough against Gowna is a reprise of last year's semi-final where Gowna emerged with five to spare over the 'Lough on a scoreline of 2–16 to 2–11.
