Mullahoran NS opens new extension and SEN class

- Róisín McManus -

The official opening of a new extension and second special educational needs class took place today (Friday, October 9) in Mullahoran National School.

Since the new class became available at the start of the school year, six new children have been welcomed into the “school family.” An existing SEN class in the school already caters for another six children.

“To the new pupils - we are so happy to have you here,” said Principal Aiden Reynolds.

“We are excited to watch you grow, learn and thrive alongside your peers here in Mullahoran.”

Three new school flags were also raised during the opening - a Blue Star Flag, which was raised by Midlands-North-West MEP Ciaran Mullooly, an Active School Flag, raised by Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Niamh Smyth, and a Green-Schools Energy Flag was raised by past pupil Cllr Philip Brady.

“Today marks a truly historic milestone in the story of Mullahoran National School,” Mr Reynolds said.

“The opening of this new school extension and our second autism class is a moment of immense pride for our entire community. It represents growth, progress and a profound commitment to the future of our children here in Mullahoran.”
