Bishop Duffy announces further diocesan changes
Bishop Larry Duffy acknowledged the extra burden on his clergy as he announced additional Diocesan Changes, with effect from Sunday, October 11.
Very Rev John Chester PP Roslea has retained that position, but has also become the PP of Clones and of Killeevan-Currin and Aghabog. He will be resident in the Parish of Roslea.
Very Rev Canon Jimmy McPhillips PP Lisnaskea and Maguiresbridge (Aghalurcher) and of Newtownbutler (Galloon) now also has additional responsibility as the PP of Brookeboro-Fivemiletown (Aghavea-Aughintaine). He will remain resident in Maguiresbridge.
Meanwhile Fr Joseph Nnamdi Mokwe, Diocese of Sokoto, Nigeria has, from October 13, become Priest-in-Residence in Dromore.
Commenting on these appointments, Bishop Duffy said: "In making these changes I am very conscious of the many responsibilities that Fr John, Canon Jimmy and several other priests across the Diocese have taken on in recent years and months in terms of assuming responsibility for additional parishes.
"I really appreciate their commitment in taking on the extra work. It reminds us once more of the burdens of responsibility that we carry, that there is an ever-growing need to share that responsibility into the future."
Bishop Duffy concluded by wishing Fr John, Canon Jimmy and Fr Joseph and all clergy every blessing in their ministry and responsibilities.
