It’s not clean ’til it’s MegaClean!
MegaClean began with one woman, a sharp eye for detail and an instinct for what busy households need most: dependable help and the relief of walking into a spotless home. The company name is a play on founder Megan Harten’s first name, giving the business a memorable personal identity.
Based in Mullahoran, Megan launched MegaClean after returning from a two-year stint in New Zealand, drawing on part-time cleaning experience and the exacting five-star standards she learned from running an Airbnb at home in Ireland.
What started as a solo residential service quickly gathered momentum. Megan hired her first team member within three months. Two and a half years later, MegaClean has grown to a six-person team serving homes and larger commercial contracts and even festivals.
Yet the business’s core values remain unchanged: trust, friendliness, close follow-up and meticulous work.
“I suppose as we’re getting bigger, I don’t want to lose the personal side of the business. I’ve stepped back from the cleaning myself, so I’m overseeing and making sure all our customers are happy,” Megan says.
That personal commitment extends beyond paying customers. “We also do a free clean every month for someone in need. I know there are people who suffer with their mental health, may be sick, or simply can’t afford it, so people can nominate someone. It doesn’t get put online, obviously, because people don’t want that.”
The monthly clean reveals MegaClean’s human side: practical help delivered discreetly, without turning a difficult moment into publicity. For Megan, excellent customer service is more than a polished result; it is the confidence people place in those entering their homes and the consistency that keeps that trust.
As working lives become busier, MegaClean gives time back to families and businesses while ensuring growth never comes at the expense of care.
