Council approves €1 land deal in Cavan

Cavan County Council has given the green light to a land disposal for the nominal sum of just €1.

The council sanctioned the disposal of 0.23 hectares of land at Galbolie, near Bailieborough, to Ms Francis Prichard of Galbolie, Bailieborough, for the symbolic fee.

The proposal came before elected members at the council’s October monthly meeting, where the deal received approval.

The disposal is being carried out under Section 183 of the Local Government Act 2001 and Section 211 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act 2000.

Fianna Fáil councillor Niall Smith proposed the disposal, with Aontú councillor Adrian Rogers seconding the motion.
