The children's classic book 'We're going on Bear Hunt' has been adapted for young children to go on a giant adventure hunt in the stunning Cavan Burren.

This adventure takes place on this weekend - Saturday, June 8.

"The Visitor Centre is half closed, half open and the ground goes from stone to grass to steps to a steep climb for little legs, and then a downward slope - so really it's a perfect place for a giant adventure," enthuses organiser Deirdre O'Reilly. The adventure is aimed at two age groups, 0-2 and 3-5 with half hour workshops starting from 10am - see the website for details. "My focus is not only on story-telling, but it is to encourage the playful connection between parent and child to strengthen their bond, and as we know the early years are vital for brain development - and what better way to develop the brain than through play - outdoor risky play at that."

Outdoor gear and suitable footwear are esential.
