Patrick James (PJ) Jackson Dernakesh, Canningstown, Cootehill, Co. Cavan, July 1, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children at his residence. Predeceased by his Father Eddie and brother Paul. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Mary Lennon, Son Padraig, Daughters Orlaith and Cáit, Mother Cissie Jackson, Brothers, Sisters, Brothers-in-law, Sisters-in-law, Aunt Bridie (USA), nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home Cootehill (H16 FD25) on Thursday evening from 5 o’clock to 8 o’clock. Removal leaving his residence on Friday morning to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Maudabawn for 11 o’clock funeral mass, burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

House private to family and relatives please.

Brendan Kiely

Shannon Park, Portumna, Galway / Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

Brendan passed away, peacefully, on Sunday the 29th of June in Galway University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Throughout his illness, he met each day with quiet strength and unwavering dignity.

Predeceased by his brother Joseph, Brendan will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, daughter Brenda, sons Stephen, Damien, John and Gavin, son-in-law David, daughters-in-law Mary, Nicola, Francoise and Gabrielle, his adoring grandchildren, his brother Kevin and sister Genevieve, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, members of the extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Brendan's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Brendan’s funeral cortège will arrive to St Brigid’s Church, Portumna on Wednesday 2nd July at 10:45am with Mass being celebrated at 11:00am. For those unable to attend, Mass will be live streamed here.

Funeral will continue to Shannon Crematorium afterwards for cremation service at 3 o'clock.

Patrick Joseph (Pat) Greenan

Fr. Griffin Road, Lower Salthill, Galway / Castleblayney, Monaghan

Pat passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at the Galway Hospice, surrounded by his loving wife and five children.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary and son Kevin, his brother Francis (UK), sister Mary Reynolds (New Jersey) and his recently deceased brother Tom (Castlebar, Co. Mayo).

He will be forever missed by his loving wife Delia (née Murphy, Glencorrib), his children Caroline, Susan, Patrick, Breda and Regina, sons-in-law Jonathan, David, Macdara and James and daughter-in-law Jacquelina. Fondly remembered also with great love and affection by his eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, neighbours and friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace

Wednesday 2 July 2025 - Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Thursday 3 July 2025 - Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Pat at St. Joseph's Church, Presentation Road on arrival at 11am.

Sheila Meehan

(née Smyth)

Foxrock, Dublin / Clones, Monaghan

Meehan (nee Smyth) Sheila, 30th June 2025, 8 Birch Dale, Westminster Park, Foxrock, Dublin 18 and formerly of Carn, Clones, Co. Monaghan, peacefully in St Vincent’s hospital and formerly in the kind care of the Fern Dean Nursing Home in Blackrock. Beloved wife of the late Gerry and predeceased by her siblings Dessie, Austin, Vincent, Patricia and Rita.

Sheila will be sadly missed by her children Sandra, Geraldine, Lisa and Gerard, her sons-in law Ted, John and Alessandro, her grandchildren Cormac, Michelle, Caroline, Erin, Tara, Daniel, Hugh, Luke, Sarah, Conor and Ciarán, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses in St Paul’s ward in St Vincent’s Hospital for taking such great care of Sheila in her last days and also the caring staff in the Fern Dean who looked after Sheila for the last 2 years.

Reposing in Stafford funeral home Dun Laoghaire on Thursday 3rd July from 3pm-5pm. A funeral service to celebrate Sheila's life will take place on Friday 4th July at Staffords Funeral home Dun Laoghaire at 12pm followed by a cremation service in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross for arrival at 1.45pm
