Humphreys confirmed as FG presidential election candiate

Fine Gael have just issued a statement confirming local woman, Heather Humphreys, as the party’s candidate in the upcoming presidential election.

In a statement, the party said: “Nominations have closed for the Fine Gael candidacy for the upcoming Presidential election.

To be nominated as a candidate, a candidate required the nomination of at least 20 members of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party, 25 Councillors and 5 members of the Fine Gael Executive Council.

One candidate has been duly nominated – Heather Humphreys.

Ms Humphreys name will go forward for ratification at a Party event to take place on Saturday, September 13, which will be the official campaign launch.”
