It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan as reported on RIP.ie in the last few days.
Brian Comiskey
Aughaloora, Kilnaleck, Cavan
Died the 30/09/2025 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, and in the excellent care of the staff at Medical 1.
Brian will be sadly missed by his, sister Kathleen (Sean), Eugene (Chris), Gerry (Teresa), his special friend Shirley, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium Dublin Road Cavan on Wednesday the 1st of October from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday the 2nd at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, Aughaloora followed by burial in Kill Cemetery, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan.

Peter Paul Higgins

Peter Paul Higgins, 7 St.Phelim's Place, Cavan Town, Tuesday September 30th 2025, peacefully in the loving care of his family and the staff at Castlemanor Nursing Home. Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen, his daughter Josie, granddaughter Lyndsey and his brothers and sisters.
Peter Paul will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by his family, Jimmy (Elizabeth), Alice (Bernard), Peter (Mary), Caroline (Peter), Noel, Catherine (John), Linda (Ann Marie), son in law Bernard, his adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother John (Mena), brothers in law, sisters in law, all his extended family, good neighbours and many great friends.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from the Funeral Home on Thursday morning at 10.30am, travelling via Wolfe Tone St, to the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim, Cavan, arriving for a Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock. The death has occurred of JOSEPH (JOE) Callan, Carga, Culloville, Co Monaghan, on the 30th September 2025, peacefully sourrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents Joe & Kathleen, and brother Oliver. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his sister Mary (Quigley), brothers Peadar and Fintan, brother-in-law Pat Quigley, sister-in-law Rita, nieces and nephews, Áine, Joan, Paul, Claire, Linda, Fiona, Darragh and Katelyn, aunt Susan Butler, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, and many friends.
Reposing at his residence in Carga (Eircode: A75 CY27) from 12pm until 9pm, Wednesday 1stOctober. Removal Thursday 2nd October at 10.15am to St Lastra’s Church, Donaghmoyne, arriving for 11am requiem mass followed by burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.

Monaghan, peacefully surrounded by her loving family in her 96th year at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Tuesday 30th September 2025. Predeceased by her husband Pat Owen. Deeply regretted and sadly missed with love by her family, Patrick (Peggy), Briege (Tommy), Brian (Brenda), Catherine (Brendan), Seamus (Geraldine), Ann (Noel), Geraldine (Francie), Rita (Patrick), Martina (James), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Removal on Thursday afternoon to St. Lastra’s Church, Donaghmoyne, A81 P978 arriving for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Mary Greenan, (née Brogan), Lis Darragh, newbliss, Co. Monaghan, Tuesday 30th September 2025, peacefully in St James' Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by her husband Niall and son Paul.
Predeceased by her parents James Hugh and Peggy Brogan.
Much loved wife of Niall and cherished mother of Paul and grandmother to her adored grandson Niall (Jn). Mary will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband, son, grandson, brother-in-law Leo, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and loved Mary.

Mary will repose at Martin's Family Room, Newbliss, H18C962, Wed 1st Oct from 3pm to 9pm, breaking from 5.30pm-5.45pm. Removal on Thursday Morning from Mary's family home (walking to No 20, Clones Rd) at 10.20am arriving to St Laobhín's Church, Killeevan for 11am funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Predeceased by her husband Gerry.
Sadly missed and remembered with love by her cherished family; her sister Audrey (Nick) and her brother Kenneth (Lesley), her much-loved nephews William, Daniel, Matt & Andy, her extended family, most especially Pauline, her wonderful neighbours & friends.
