WHAT: The first lecture will be by Dr Jonathan Cherry from DCU school of History & Geography and will examine land ownership in County Cavan before charting the impact of land reform between 1870 and 1930 on changing land ownership in the county. It will conclude by examining the interactions of the Irish Land Commission with the Farnham Estate and their agency there between 1924 and 1931. Booking advised, Call 049-4378500

WHAT: On January 5, 2026, Damien Miney will travel to Kenya for the fourth time with the Ray of Sunshine Foundation CLG. This year the mission is to build more classrooms to the existing school. As part of his fundraising activities for this trip, Damien will be hosting a table quiz.

Among the topics covered - this was public and not a secret vote, landlord and clerical influence on tenants and the names of Ballinamore voters and who they voted for.
