Theft while couple at wedding
Gardaí are investigating the theft of a substantial sum of cash from a house in the Cootehill area, which occurred while the homeowners were attending a wedding.
The break in occurred in the Dartry Park area of the town last Saturday, November 22.
Gardaí are also investigating a second burglary in the town on the same date, and continue to appeal for information following other recent break-ins in the local area, including a burglary at a house in the Griffith Park area between 1:30pm and 9pm on October 1.
Intruders gained entry by smashing a rear glass panel and jewellery was reported taken.
Meanwhile, gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to two burglaries around the same period in neighbouring County Monaghan - one at O’Duffy Terrace, Ballybay, between 5pm on Wednesday, October 1, and 11am on Thursday, October 2; and another at St Patrick’s Street around 6:30pm on Saturday, October 11.
Officers are particularly interested in sightings of a small, black, Wexford-registered car observed in the area at the time.
