Cottage Market to dazzle this weekend
The festive fun is set to crank up a notch in the county town this weekend with the Christmas Cottage market.
The new Christmas lights and the tree on the Market Square, not to mention the piped Christmas music throughout the town, are already raising spirits high and most traders are reporting good footfall.
Cavan Chamber has been hard at work revamping the town's festive display, and the committee is delighted to welcome the extra crowds the Christmas market will attract.
The Chamber is also urging people to shop local this Christmas and keep money circulating in the local economy.
President Philip Brady, proprietor of The Sports Shop in Cavan Town, is encouraging shoppers to look for a bargain locally before heading elsewhere to shop.
"Why spend hours in traffic getting to somewhere like Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and then struggle to get parking when you can have a hassle free shopping experience right here in town," he said.
"The Christmas market this weekend will create a lovely festive atmosphere with plenty of fun for all the family. You will likely meet people you know, get some of your Christmas shopping done and support local companies and jobs in the process," continued Mr Brady.
"There's plenty of free parking around the town too," he added.
The Cavan Town gift card is also available for purchase and can be used in dozens of outlets and eateries across the county town. The card is available from Cavan Credit Union and online as both a digital e-card, which can be sent via email, and a physical gift card. To find out more about the card or to purchase yours, search townandcitygiftcards.ie, find your area and tap the Cavan Town gift card. Select how much you would like to put on the card, checkout and receive the perfect gift for yourself or others, knowing that you are helping the effort to shop local this Christmas.
