GoFundMe set up for dad of six killed in Cavan crash
Fundraiser set up by friends of David McBride.
An online fundraiser has been launched to support the family of a Louth man tragically killed in a road traffic collision near Shercock earlier this week.
The appeal was set up by friends and loved ones of David McBride of Station Road, Drumleck, Castlebellingham, to help ease the financial burden facing his family in the wake of his sudden death, particularly with regards to funeral expenses.
Mr McBride, who worked delivering newspapers to shops across the region, is described in the post online as a devoted husband to his wife, Paula, and a loving father to their six young sons- Conor, Danny, Oisín, Felím, Culín and Dathí- all of whom are said to have idolised their dad.
In the GoFundMe post, organisers wrote:
“We are hoping to raise funds after the tragic accident that took the life of our dear friend, son, husband and father, David. David was husband to his beautiful wife Paula and daddy to his six amazing little boys who idolised him. As you can imagine, the grief is overwhelming for all concerned. We hope to lessen the burden by attempting to cover David’s funeral costs with this GoFundMe. Please donate whatever you can — it will be greatly appreciated.”
Mr McBride sadly lost his life following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in Shercock, Cavan, on Monday morning, February 2, shortly before 7.30am.
At the time of writing, the fundraiser has raised €21,000 towards a target of €28,000.
