NYD millionaire has claimed their prize

The Cavan syndicate who scooped up the top prize of €1 million in the New Year’s Eve Millionaire Raffle draw has claimed their prize this week.

The winning ticket was purchased at Cullies Maxol on the Ballyhaise Road in Cavan.

“What a way to start 2026," the winners said.

"We checked the ticket on New Year’s Day and couldn’t believe it," they said, adding how they were "double and triple checking the results to be certain."

"Since then, the ticket has been kept safely in an old phone box that I have carried with me everywhere. I even brought it to bed every night because I didn’t want it out of sight for too long.”

The winners are already in the midst of making big plans for their winnings.

“Buying a house is the top priority for this year but I think planning a holiday will certainly be on the list now as well," they revealed, adding that they are "thinking about flying first class for a change!”
