€3M contract signed for Shercock Housing Development

Cavan County Council has signed contracts with local firm Clankee Construction for the development of a 10-unit turnkey housing development in Shercock valued at €2,949,943.

The Clankee Court Development will comprise five two-bed bungalows, and five three-bed dormer bungalows and will be completed to the latest sustainability standards, coming with an A2 Building Energy Rating.

Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr John Paul Feeley hailed the progress being made on housing delivery: “I am delighted to sign contracts for further housing delivery in the county. These ten, high-quality, energy efficient homes will be a great boost to Shercock, providing much needed social housing while also giving the local economy a boost, and supporting local jobs.”

Chief Executive Eoin Doyle added: “Today’s contract signing is another important milestone in Cavan County Council’s ongoing effort to deliver effective, efficient, and high-quality social housing throughout Cavan. Whether through turnkey developments such as Clankee Court, through our own new build programme, through working with Approved Housing Bodies, or combatting dereliction through restoring vacant properties and also supporting the public to do so via the Croí Cónaithe scheme, Cavan County Council is leaving no stone unturned as we work towards delivering on our ambitious housing targets.”

The development is due for completion by September 2027.
