DRAMA FESTIVAL

WHERE: Íontas Theatre, Castleblayney

WHEN: Runs to Saturday, March 7

WHAT: The final four nights of the annual festival, held under the auspices of the ADCI. Performances begin at 8pm nightly, except for the final night which starts at 7.30pm.

Wednesday, March 4: Holywood Players present the classic thriller Deathtrap by Ira Levin; Thursday, March 5: Lislea Dramatic Players bring Thornton Wilder’s Our Town to the Íontas stage; Friday, March 6: Clontarf Players present ‘I Never Sang for my Father’ by Robert Anderson; and on Saturday, March 7: Kilmuckridge Drama Group close the festival with Brian Friel’s ‘The Communication Cord’.

Country Music Night

WHEN: Friday, March 6

WHAT: Country Music Night with cabaret and dancing, featuring Stacey Breen, Karl Kilpatrick, Aidan Quinn, Rachel McConnell and Caillin Joe with Fergus McConnell Band. MC Sean Wallace. Pay at door £15.

Cavan Drama Festival

WHERE: Town Hall Cavan

WHEN: Saturday, March 7-14

WHAT: Eden - Eugene O'Brien's award-winning play about an unhappily married couple living in the midlands kicks off eight nights of exceptional drama on the doorstep. Carlow Little Theatre Society will be the first troupe to take to the stage.

COFFEE MORNING

WHERE: Cavan County Museum

WHEN: Saturday March 7, 11am–1pm

WHAT: Cavan County Museum celebrate its 30th anniversary with a coffee morning. Reminisce about the memories you may have from the museum. Please share any memorabilia, photos or stories.

Cinderella

WHERE: Emyvale Leisure Centre

WHEN: Saturday, March 7

WHAT: Come along to the vintage video night to see Emyvale Drama Society’s Pantomime ‘Cinderella’ from 1985, the year the Leisure Centre opened. Evening includes live music and refreshments. Admission €10; show starts 7pm. A vital fundraiser to newly completed roof.

Football blitz

WHERE: Shannon Gaels GAA Club, Glangevlin

WHEN: Saturday March 7, 10am-12pm

WHAT: Underage football blitz organised by Shannon Gaels at the pitch in Glangevlin. There will be some craft stalls and treats in the adjoining St Patrick’s Hall.

BIRDWATCH CAVAN BRANCH

WHERE: Dundalk Bay

WHEN: Saturday, March 7 10am

WHAT: Meet outside the Spirit Store, Dundalk Docks at 10am. (Eircode A91 NR79). If anyone needs a lift from Cavan please get in touch and we will try to arrange. The outing is suitable for beginners and anyone with an interest in bird photography.

VETERAN AND VINTAGE CLUB
