Police granted more time to question man over Ellie's murder

Police in Enniskillen have been granted an additional 24 hours to question a man they arrested on Saturday on suspicion of the murder of Ellie Flanagan

POLICE investigating the murder of 23-year-old Ellie Flanagan in Enniskillen at the weekend have been granted an additional 24 hours to question a man they arrested on Saturday night.

Detectives had been granted an additional 36 hours to question the 45-year-old with another 24 hours granted yesterday (Tuesday) evening.

The man was arrested on suspicion of murder and other offences after PSNI received a report of a collision on the Carn Road about eight miles from Enniskillen on Saturday night.

The driver had left the scene of the collision and when police went to the address where the car was registered to at Corban Avenue, Enniskillen, they discovered Ellie’s body.

Soon after, police found the man on the Carn Road, and he was arrested.

There remains a police presence at Ellie’s address this morning while detectives continue to question the man until at least late this afternoon.
