Masked intruders linked to brazen burglaries
Two masked men caught on a doorbell video attempting to break into a Cavan Town home earlier this month are believed to be connected another burglary in Monaghan.
The Cavan incident, reported last week, occurred around a week before the Monaghan break-in occurred in late February.
Meanwhile, Gardaí are investigating another burglary at a house on Cavan Road, Virginia, where a home was invaded while the owner was attending Mass. Returning to the property, the resident was confronted with the shocking scene of a ransacked house.
The authorities are also appealing for information following a break-in at a Kilnaleck home in Omard between February 28 and March 1 where the homeowner arrived to find their front door wide open, lights on, and the property inside completely trashed.
Similarly in Cootehill, a homeowner discovered a stocky male wearing a balaclava inside their bedroom. The intruder had forcibly entered the Doocarrick property on the evening of Saturday, February 28, at around 7:30pm.
Lastly, gardaí continue to appeal for information after thieves stole a significant sum of cash from a home in Mount Pleasant between 6pm on February 10 and 6am the following morning.
The intruders forced open a rear door and even broke an internal bedroom lock to gain access.
