It is with regret that we inform you of the following death and funeral notices in Cavabn and Monaghan

Teresa Sheridan (née Fitzpatrick) of Collops, Kingscourt, Co Cavan passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Predeceased by her parents Philip and Annie, siblings Mary, Frank and Anna.

Beloved wife of Bernard. Devoted mother to Anne Marie (Paul), Carol, Philip (Paula), Brendan (Kristina) and Ashling (Adam). Adored grandmother to Nathan, Abbie, Erin, Emily and Grace. Sadly missed by her sister Bernadette, nieces and nephews. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken family, extended family and friends.

Funeral on Monday, March 30, to arrive at St Josephs Church, Corlea (A82 XE94) for funeral mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in Kingscourt cemetery.

James McEvoy, Porton, Crosserlough, Co. Cavan. Thursday, March 26, (suddenly) at his home.

Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his wife and best friend Keava and their son Louie, his parents Bríd & Andy, brother Paul (Tara), sisters; Andrea (Declan), Lisa (Jamie) and Thérése (Jamie), brother in law Caolán, sisters in law; Amanda (Darragh) & Éadaoin (Cian), nieces, & nephews; Josh, Mila, Alice, Jack, Alfie, Naofa and Ayvie, parents in law Ann & John Galligan, his grandparents; John & Tessie Lynch and James & Mary McEvoy (RIP) , aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Requiem Mass for James will be celebrated on Monday, March 30 in St. Mary's Church, Crosserlough at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery. House private outside of reposing time. Family flowers only please.

John Fitzsimons, Quarryfield, Bunninadden, Sligo / Bailieborough, Cavan. Peacefully at his residence (in his 93rd year) surrounded by his loving family.

Much loved husband of Kathy. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his daughters Caroline, Jacqueline and Angela, sons-in-law Graeme and Jim, grandchildren: James, Simon, Matthew, Owen, Grace, Michael, Aoife, Thomas and Sinéad, brother-in-law Michael (McDonagh), nieces, nephews, relatives, kind neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, 30th March, at 12 noon in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Bunninadden, with interment thereafter in Cloonameehan Cemetery. House is private, please.

Patrick (Paddy) Bannon, late of Lisanover, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan and Sutton, Dublin, died peacefully in his ninety-seventh year, March 26, 2026, in the care of St Patrick’s Care Home, Baldoyle.

Survived by his wife Pauline, sons Declan, Ultan, Enda and Ross, daughters-in-law Maura and Margaret, sister Pauline, brother Aidan, grand-children Sarah, Róisín, Cúán, Ian, Yvonne, Alecia, Shane, Daniel and great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his brothers Francie and Joseph, sister Mary and daughter-in-law Attracta.

Reposing at Staffords Funeral Home, Portmarnock D13 E0A2, Tuesday, March 31, 5 - 7pm. Funeral Mass, St. Fintan’s Church, Sutton, Wednesday 1 April at 10am followed by burial in Curtlestown Cemetery, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, A98 PF60.

Mary Reynolds (Née Murdoch), Kilmaddaroe, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim and formerly Tyholland, Co. Monaghan

Peacefully on March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in the tender loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Drumderrig Nursing Home, Boyle.

Pre-deceased by her parents Francis and Margaret, husband Eamonn, brothers Denis and Oliver, sisters Gertie and Christina.

Sadly missed by her sons, John, Richard and Terry, daughters-in-law, Julie, Laura and Angelika, adored grandchildren Adam, Darcey and Jemima, sister Anne, brother John, brothers-in-law Jimmy and Paddy, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Mary will repose at The Heritage Centre, Chapel of Rest, Church Lane, Carrick-on-Shannon (N41 KP62) on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 5 o’ clock until 7 o’ clock.

Mass of Christian burial in Sacred Heart Church Jamestown on Monday 30th March at 12:00 o’clock, followed by burial in Jamestown cemetery.
