Who will take Macra’s Mr Personality crown?

Two Macra representatives from Cavan and Monaghan will enter the Mr Personality Festival in Kilkenny next weekend.

Mark Sherry will fly the flag for Monaghan, meanwhile Niall Clerkin is hoping to bring some silverware home to Cavan.

Twenty-six-year-old Mark is an active member of Scotstown Macra, and lists winning Northwest Best New Member 2025 at the Macra Rally as one of his most memorable Macra moments. He supports Celtic FC and is also a part of a local Supporters Group in Monaghan, and also has a big interest in his classic cars. Mark believes he will make a good representative for Monaghan because he is always his original self, who is kind, genuine and approachable. He is good craic and likes to get a laugh out of people - even if he must make a fool of himself to do so.

Meanwhile, Maudabawn man Niall Clerkin will represent Cavan at the festival.

The twenty-seven-year-old loves hurling, football, cars, tractors and welding and gets involved in activities such as fundraisers and competitions for charity and his club.

The pair will have a jam-packed weekend at the festival, where one of the highlights each year is the on-stage interviews.

The annual Mr. Personality Festival is being organised by Kilkenny County Macra.

The festival will take place during April 10 and 11 in Langton’s Hotel Kilkenny, with the Mr Personality 2026 award presented at midnight on April 11.

Tickets for the weekend are currently on sale.
