Protests in Cavan Town are ongoing this evening at the Dublin Road Roundabout, and it's expected they'll continue until around 7pm.

The Celt understands the protest is to resume tomorrow morning at approximately 7am.

The N55 between the old Nissan garage and the Dublin Road Roundabout has now been completely blocked off.

Meanwhile, the N3 exits remain blocked, and road users are being directed towards Cavan Town.

Cathal Mundy, Cian Kelly, Gerry Reilly, Geraldine Clarke, and Teddy the dog seeking shelter from the rain.
