Fight against Fast Fashion
Students from Bailieborough Community School turned heads on the catwalk after securing a spot among seven finalists at the 2026 An Taisce Green-Schools ‘Let’s Fix Fashion’ finale.
A nationwide Green-Schools initiative, Let’s Fix Fashion, challenged secondary students to rethink the environmental cost of fast fashion, encouraging them to upcycle, reuse, and embrace circular fashion.
This year, more than 50 schools across Ireland competed, with only seven reaching the prestigious final at the historic Brú Ború Heritage Centre in Cashel, Co Tipperary, after completing a gauntlet of creative challenges including documentary screenings, communication takeovers, upcycling projects, and organising school swap shops.
Bailieborough Community School stood out with its innovative international collaboration with students from JSS Dubai through An Taisce’s Young Reporters for the Environment programme.
