Volunteers sought for Cavan Arts Fest 2026
Preparations will begin with events on Thursday evening
Organisers of the Cavan Arts Festival are inviting members of the public to get involved in this year’s celebration, as the event prepares to return to Cavan Town from May 14-17.
The festival will take place across multiple locations across the county town, with the Con Smith Park serving as a central hub for many of the weekend’s activities.
A strong team of volunteers is essential to bringing the programme to life, and organisers are now welcoming new members to join the festival’s volunteer and crew team.
Preparations will begin with events on Thursday evening and volunteers needed to help out; and on Friday to transform the park. Tasks include assembling circus tents, hanging bunting, and adding decorative touches, making it an ideal opportunity for those with practical skills or a creative eye.
Festival activities will run throughout Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm, with volunteers supporting a variety of roles, from assisting with events to welcoming artists and helping audiences navigate the busy schedule. Evening performances are also planned, including a Saturday night show in the town hall at 8pm and a Sunday evening event in the park at 7:30pm, offering further opportunities to get involved behind the scenes.
Participants can expect a hands-on experience with a friendly and welcoming crew, along with perks such as good food, great company, and access to a range of shows and performances throughout the weekend.
To ensure smooth coordination, a volunteer schedule will be organised around event times, with groups asked to arrive approximately 30 minutes before or after activities to assist with transitions and logistics.
As the festival draws to a close, volunteers will also be invited to take part in a short clean-up of the park, helping return the space to its original condition.
