Aontú senator set to raise need for more road funding
Calls for Minister for Transport to make extra provision for region.
Aontú Senator Sarah O'Reilly is set to raise concerns in the Seanad over the need for additional funding for roads across the Cavan and Monaghan region.
The issue has been selected by the Cathaoirleach as one of today’s Commencement Matters and will be discussed from 10:30am in Seanad Éireann.
During the debate, Senator O’Reilly will call on the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the provision of extra investment for road infrastructure in both counties, amid ongoing concerns over road conditions, maintenance and regional connectivity.
Under Seanad procedures, the Senator will have five minutes to make her opening statement, before the Minister or Minister of State responds with a five-minute reply.
