€1.8 million in LGBTIQ+ Community Services Fund
First Annual Report highlights progress on National Inclusion Strategy
Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley, has announced €1.8 million in funding for 52 projects under the 2026 LGBTIQ+ Community Services Fund.
The funding will support organisations across Ireland to enhance services, strengthen community infrastructure and promote inclusion for LGBTIQ+ people. It is a key element of the National LGBTIQ+ Inclusion Strategy II, which aims to build a safe, fair and inclusive society where LGBTIQ+ people can live healthy and fulfilling lives.
Minister Foley also published the first Annual Report on the National LGBTIQ+ Inclusion Strategy II (2024–2028).
Covering 2025, the report highlights progress across the Strategy’s key areas, including expanded mental health and sexual health supports, increased visibility of LGBTIQ+ people in national data, stronger protections against harmful content and additional Government supports to improve wellbeing and participation.
The announcement coincides with Pride 2026 and reflects the Government’s ongoing commitment to advancing equality, protecting rights and improving quality of life for LGBTIQ+ people across Ireland.
Minister Foley said the investment of €1.8 million will support 52 organisations delivering vital services to LGBTIQ+ people across Ireland, from rural community spaces to supports for young people, older people and those most at risk of exclusion.
The first Annual Report of the National LGBTIQ+ Inclusion Strategy II demonstrates the meaningful progress being made across Government and in collaboration with community organisations. While challenges remain, we are committed to continuing this work to ensure that LGBTIQ+ people are safe, supported and fully included in all aspects of society.”
The 2026 Community Services Fund includes two funding streams: grants of €25,000 to €100,000 for established organisations, and grants of €5,000 to €10,000 to support visibility and inclusion initiatives at community level.
