Championships kick-off and Reserve finals take shape

Both the Junior Championship and the Intermediate Championship kicked off in Cavan last weekend.
On the Intermediate front, Denn set out their stall early on with a 10-point win over Munterconnaught on Friday evening.
There were also wins for Lavey and Ballinagh, against Sherock and Killinkere, respectively.
Drumlane and Cnoc Bríde also recorded big wins, but the result of the weekend was ultimately Cornafean’s 3-11 to 0-13 point win against Cootehill on Saturday.
In the Junior Championship, Belturbet beat Swanlinbar by three points on Friday evening.
On Saturday, Lacken were comfortable winners against Drung, and on Sunday, Shannon Gaels beat Templeport.
In Co. Monaghan, Reserve football talk centre stage over the weekend.
The standout result was for Killanny, who beat Aghabog 0-11 to 0-9 in the RFC Crawley Cup final on Friday evening.
Elsewhere, the RFL semi-finals were taking place.
In Division 1A Donaghmoyne had too much for Carrickmacross and set up a final against Scotstown.
The Divison 1B semi-final saw Clontibret were nine-point winners away from home against Emyvale. They will play Castleblayney in the final.
Clones came from behind at half-time to beat Cremartin in the Division 2A semi-final. They face a long trip to Killanny for the decider.
In Divsion 2B, Eire Óg were comfrotable winners against Ballybay, they set up a clash with Truagh.
