Scotstown crowned SFL Champions

David McCague's Scotstown side have lain down the marker ahead of the Senior Football Championship, with a comprehensive win over Latton at O'Neill Park, Clontibret this afternoon.

Scotstown pulled away in the second-half to win by eight-points in the second half, witha final score of1-20 to 2-9.

Even before throw-in, there was a sense that there are bigger games ahead for both sides, with Scotstown making a host of changes before throw-in, including removing Jack McCarron- who did not play.

Rory Beggan was also absent for David McCague's men, as were Darren and Kieran Hughes.

For Latton, captain Kieran Duffy did not feature, nor did Monaghan's breakthrough star of the season, Oisin McGorman.

Latton were the slightly better team in the first-half, but weren't clinical enough in front of goal to truly trouble Scotstown.

After the break, was Scotstown's half-forward line that caused all of the damage with Conor McCarthy and Max Maguire threatening to score every time they came forward.
