Drum 'Do Not Consume' water notice lifted

The notice was issued on Friday, July 24, due to elevated levels of manganese and iron in the raw water entering the supply.

A Do Not Consume Notice in place on the Drum public water supply in Co Monaghan has been lifted with immediate effect.

Following consultation with the Health Service Executive (HSE), Uisce Éireann is advising customers that their water can now be consumed as normal.

It was necessary to issue the Do Not Consume Notice on Friday, July 24, due to elevated levels of manganese and iron in the raw water entering the supply.

Uisce Éireann’s Asset Operations Lead Peter Gallagher thanked the local residents and business who were affected by this notice.

“We understand the inconvenience to customers and thank them for their patience and cooperation while the notice was in place,” said Peter.
