The following deaths have occurred in Cavan and Monaghan in recent days as reported on RIP.ie
Fergal Brides, Rocklands, Cavan Town and formerly Corglass, Cavan, Wednesday, September 2, suddenly.
Fergal was very dearly loved and will be very sadly missed by his heartbroken family, daughter Dearbhla, sons Cormac and Cian, his parents Michael and Eileen, brothers, Garry (Annetta), Micheál and Finian, sister, Aideen (Vinny), his uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, Pauline, all his extended family and his many, many friends. May he rest in peace.
Fergal will repose at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Sunday afternoon from 4pm until 7pm.
Removal from the home of his brother Garry and sister in law Annetta on Monday morning at 11 o'clock, travelling to the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim, Cavan, arriving for a Funeral Mass at 11.30.
Following Mass a cremation service will take place in Lakelands Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Fergal's Funeral Mass will be available to view live on the parish website at www.cavantownparish.com/webcam

Seamus O’Reilly (Big Seamie), Killymeehan, Stradone, Co Cavan. Monday, August 31, peacefully in Epsom General Hospital, Surrey, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his grandparents Ellen (Mammy), Charles Reilly and his uncle Noel Smith
Sadly missed by his loving Partner Michaela Jeffery, Children - Danika, Darragh, Dylan and their mother Valerie, his adored grandchildren Kyrin and Kaiden, brothers Thomas and Pauric, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Sunday September 6 from 4pm until 6pm.
Requiem Mass on Monday at 12 noon in St Michael’s Church, Clifferna, followed by Cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan.

Breda (Bridget) Chambers (née Farrelly), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, and formerly Corryrorke, Mullagh, Co. Cavan. Peacefully after a long illness on August 22, 2026.
Predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Michael Chambers (Quilty, Co. Clare), and her parents JP and Betty, her baby brother Paul and sister-in-law Frances.
She will be deeply missed by her son Shane (Texas), daughter Tara (New York), her sister Lily (New York), and her brothers John and Owen (Mullagh), her sister in law Joan, her daughter-in-law Brooke, grandchildren Colin and Brynn, nephews Ronan, Donal, John, Gary and Shane, and her many friends in America and Ireland.
Requiem Funeral Mass on Friday morning September 11 at 11am in St. Mary's Church, Cross, A82CK73.
A private interment of ashes will take place.
Thomasina Tobin (née McArdle), formerly of Cabra, Castleblayney, and her beloved husband Patrick (Paddy) Tobin, originally from Wellington, New Zealand, who passed away suddenly while on holiday in Spain on Monday, 24 August.
Much loved parents of Rhea and Séamus, Thomasina and Paddy will be deeply missed by their children, their families, relatives and many friends.
Thomasina, beloved daughter of Tommy and the late Nancy McArdle, was predeceased by her nephew Lewis and niece Sophia. She will be sadly missed by her father Tommy, her siblings Kathy, Julianne, John, Elizabeth, Anne Marie, Cera, Septima and Duana, their partners, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Patrick, beloved son of Clare and Michael Tobin, will be deeply missed by his sisters Selena, Natasha and Katische, niece Grace, nephew Cooper, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends in Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and beyond.
The family in Cabra would appreciate privacy at this time. They sincerely appreciate the kindness and support being shown to them. There will be an opportunity in due course for everyone to meet the Tobin and McArdle families and offer their condolences at the public wake and funeral. Your understanding and continued support are deeply appreciated.

Noel McMahon, Castleross Retirement Village, Carrickmacross, and formerly of Market Square, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, on Friday, September 4, peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
Pre-deceased by his parents, Tom and Patricia.
Noel is regretted and lovingly remembered by his brothers Tom (Cora) and Dermot (Siobhan), sisters Madeline (Martin), Carole (Mark), Patrice (Kevin) and Mary (Gerard), nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.
Noel will repose at Ward’s Funeral Home, Castleblayney (A75NP30) on Sunday afternoon from 3pm until 6pm.
Noel’s funeral cortège will leave Ward’s Funeral Home on Monday morning at 10:40am, proceeding on foot to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
