New bus bays, a covered waiting area and guide dog area planned for Monaghan Town Bus Station
BUS Éireann has been granted planning permission for the significant renovation and an extension of the Monaghan Town bus station.
County planners granted their approval earlier this month.
The bus company can now progress with plans their plans to develop four new bus bays and a new canopy to the rear of the building on North Road which will provide additional covered waiting areas for customers.
There will also be a dedicated guide dog relief area, designated pedestrian walkways and a new drop-off area.
The bus company can now progress with renovations including the reconfiguration of the “entire internal layout” of the building on North Road, replacing the roof and changing the windows and doors on the building's exterior.
Bus Éireann originally submitted their application for planning permission in October last.
In August they were required to submit additional information to support their application including an asbestos survey report and water protection checklist.
