King of Mayhem among top circus artists for Culture Night
StreeLife has been moved inside Townhall Cavan
Street Life is back for Culture Night 2026 today - Friday, September 18, bringing internationally acclaimed acts and contemporary circus to Cavan town.
Due to the rain, the events will take place inside Townhall Arts Centre. This free event combines intelligent, absurdist comedy with seriously high-skill live performance, sure to instil joy in all ages attending.
Performances will be held between 5.30-7pm, with a “beautiful” and accessible non-text based performance by Ronaldo Fanzini: King of Mayhem from Fanzini Productions starting at 5.30pm, followed by an oneiric, metaphoric and surrealist “jaw-dropper” of a show called Um Belo Dia by Portuguese circus performer, juggler and actress Dulce Duca.
Cavan County Council, through the Arts Office and Arts Officer Karina Charles, is a “big believer” in access to the arts for everybody and high-quality art being brought to public spaces, says Kim McCafferty, director of Cavan Arts Festival.
“We really believe in the power of art in public spaces to transform people’s lives and communities for the better," Kim says. “People spend that time as the collective audience laughing or marvelling together. We think that it’s a really powerful thing for positive healthy communities.”
