CMETB pays tribute to Beech Hill Principal Patrick McArdle

It is with great regret that The Anglo-Celt reports the passing of Patrick McArdle, Principal of Beech Hill College, Monaghan Town.

Paying tribute to Mr McArdle, Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) said it had learned of his death with "profound sadness".

In a statement, CMETB described Patrick McArdle as "an exceptional educator, an outstanding principal, and a warm-hearted friend whose dedication, leadership and commitment to students, staff and the wider school community will leave a lasting legacy."

The board extended its sincere sympathies to his wife, Mary, sons Caleb, Zach, Nathan and Timmy, his extended family, colleagues, students and all who knew him.

To honour his memory, Beech Hill College has opened a book of condolence at the school and another will be available at the CMETB head office on Market Street, Monaghan, from 10am on tomorrow, Thursday, September 24.

CMETB said a formal tribute to Mr McArdle and his significant contribution to education will follow in due course.

As a mark of respect, the planned Open Evening at Beech Hill College tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday, October 1, at 6pm.
