Ballyhaise woman awarded Nuffield Scholarship

Ballyhaise woman Shauna Jagger has been named among four agricultural professionals selected for the prestigious Nuffield Ireland Scholarship programme, which will begin in 2027.

Nuffield Ireland supports the development of leadership across agriculture, food and farming, giving participants the opportunity to expand their knowledge, build confidence and explore new approaches to the challenges facing the sector. It is part of Nuffield International, a global network with organisations in eight countries.

Shauna is Client Executive for Pigmeat and Poultry at Bord Bia, where she works to advance the interests of Ireland’s pigmeat and poultry industries in both domestic and overseas markets.

Her responsibilities include collaborating with farmers, processors, industry bodies and international partners to identify commercial opportunities, share market intelligence and promote the quality and reputation of Irish produce.

Through the scholarship, Shauna will have the opportunity to gain fresh perspectives on agricultural practices and developments internationally, bringing valuable knowledge and experience back to Ireland.
