Woodie’s Cavan raises €11,750 for Children’s Charities

Colleagues and customers at Woodie’s Cavan have raised an impressive €11,750 for four Irish children’s charities through the retailer’s annual Woodie’s Heroes campaign.

The funds will contribute to the national fundraising total and support Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, ISPCC Childline, Down Syndrome Ireland and Cancer Fund for Children.

Established in 2015, Woodie’s Heroes marked its 12th annual campaign this year, raising €642,662.90 nationwide. The latest figure brings the total raised for Irish children’s charities since the campaign began to more than €5.3 million.

Funds raised during the 2026 campaign will be divided equally between the four charities, helping them continue their vital work supporting children, young people and families across Ireland.

Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland provides assistance dogs and family support, while ISPCC Childline offers a confidential listening service for children and young people. Down Syndrome Ireland supports early years speech and language development, and Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional and therapeutic support to young people affected by cancer and their families.

Woodie’s chief executive, Damien Dwyer, praised the commitment of colleagues, customers and suppliers who contributed to this year’s campaign.

He said the continued generosity shown by teams across the country reflected a collective determination to make a meaningful difference to children and families.
