A fresh new look for Killeshandra
Residents and visitors to Killeshandra are already beginning to see the impact of significant investment under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme (TVRS), with a number of regeneration projects currently underway throughout the town.
Among the most visible of these is the ambitious town-wide painting programme, which will see buildings throughout Killeshandra refreshed and revitalised over the coming weeks. The project is designed to enhance the appearance of the town centre, strengthen civic pride and create a more attractive environment for residents, businesses and visitors alike.
The painting works form part of a broader package of Town and Village Renewal Scheme investments being delivered in Killeshandra and represent an important step in the continued regeneration of the town.
“The painting initiative is already making a positive difference to the appearance of the town,” said Thérèse Teevan from the Town Centre First Team.
The team, which is leading the initiative, wish to acknowledge the support of the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Our Rural Future and Project Ireland 2040 and Cavan County Council, whose funding and assistance have made these projects possible.
Killeshandra Community Council is also acknowledged for its assistance in administering payments and supporting the practical delivery of projects funded under the scheme.
“These projects show what can be achieved when communities, local authorities and Government work together. The transformation taking place in Killeshandra today is creating a stronger, more attractive town centre, and laying the foundations for continued investment and regeneration into the future,” said Ms Teevan.
The Town and Village Renewal Scheme projects are scheduled to continue through to 2027, delivering lasting benefits for the community and enhancing the town’s appearance, vitality and appeal.
